Just got back from spending a few hours over at Grove Park which is in Carshalton Surrey, i’ve not been over there for donkeys years so as i was in the area shopping and the park is over the back of the main high road i took my camera with me to take some photos

So if your in the Croydon or Sutton area and you want to get some fresh air and get away from the stress of the daily grind of life it’s well worth a walk and having a few hours in the peace and quiet with only the ducks and squirrels to keep you company

To say the squirrels are tame would be an under statement as no sooner had i stepped in the park they were round my feet looking for food and the squirrel below tried to run off with my camera lol

Had to do a swap with said squirrel and after handing over some bread it gave me back my camera

This is my land begone human

After only just surviving the attack from the squirrel the canada geese came after me

Which was followed by two swans

The grounds of Grove Park are a joy to the eye and i could only wish my local park was the same

Just spent the day in Wonersh which is just outside of Guildford and the place where my mother was evacuation during the second world war.

It’s been a few years since i’ve been to Wonersh as always went down there most summers as a kid to visit the family my mother stayed with during the war

I’m not the biggest cricket fan in the world but just my luck no one was out playing on the local Wonersh cricket green

Every cricket green must have it’s Pavillion for a few beers after the game

As village town squares go this has to be one of the smallest as you just have the local pub and a food shop

ps had a pint in the pub which had a friendly atmosphere but the price of food was a bit over the top

Had a few spare hours and as i’ve not been to Guildford for a few years i fancied a trip into Stockbroker Belt of Surrey plus see if PJ HiFi was still there which is where i always buy my HiFi equipment from even though i didn’t have the money for a new CD player this trip

Day started at West Croydon Train Station and it was my lucky day as train was just coming in as i got there

PS The train fare from West Croydon to Guildford is only about £7 return with trains running about every 15 to 20 mins during the day

Something which i find odd is that Croydon and Guildford don’t have a direct link these day as there two big towns in Surrey and you have to change at Epsom

If your up to it you can hire Canal Boats for a long weekend or a Rowing Boat for a few hours

Cheam Train Station where i got off to use the loo on my way home and had to wait an hour before the next train home so wasn’t happy

Had a great days racing at brands hatch and i was knackered as the day started at 9am and didn’t finish tell 6pm which was filled with tyre smoke the odd crash a few beers and a belly of burgers

Will got there about 9am which was just in time for the free practice of the Ginetta Junior Championship which is pretty mad as the drivers are only about 12/14 years old and there were going for it big time which was then followed by races from Formula Renault, Seat Cupra, Renault Clio and Porsche Carreras which have about two races over the day

Brands hatch is a great place to see motor racing as even if you don’t buy tickets in the stands which are placed round the track you get good views as you can just stand round the fencing and get a lung full of tyre smoke which will save on buying cigs for the day

Never been to Brands Hatch before but some tickets came up so had to go as wanted to see the last round of the touring car championship which had which had fabrizio giovanardi and jason plato locked in the battle to see who would pick up the crown this year

Jason Plato and Darren Turner come out in the Seat Leon TDi

Rest of the cars come out for the first race of the day from Honda Civic’s, Integra’s, BMW’s plus many more makes and models also a Chevrolet Lacetti but there was no Stig to be seen

Photo of me with the Seat Leon TDi which was the last outing for the SEAT Sport UK car in the Touring Car Championship which is a shame a it was a great car showing what a diesel engine could do on the track

Also during the day you can walk down to the paddocks to see the teams working on the cars like the Alpine Racing Team working on there two Formula Renaults driven by Ross Worswick and Dean Stoneman

During the day we had a fly past of a Spitfire

Had to pop into London the other day to get a camera battery and just my luck the shops gone lol but had two of my cameras with me the Kyocera Finecam S5R and Fuji Finepix F40fd so went on a long walk around London

Day started at London Bridge train station which is just round the corner from HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge which is just up the road/river

Then it was off down Mincing Lane to see the 3 horses which is just round the corner from The Monument which marks the starting point of the great fire of London

Then walked up the road to see the Natwest (tower 42), Lloyds and Gherkin buildings

Then down Threadneedle street

Feet starting to hurt but off to St Paul’s Cathedral

On the way home over Southwark Bridge

Back into South London by the Tate Modern and the Millennium Bridge aka the Wobbly Bridge designed by the architect Sir Norman Foster

Then last but not least got the Golden Hinde home as train was late which is a replica of a tudor warship/galleon in which Sir Francis Drake sailed around the world in 1577–1580

PS my feet still hurt
